Yep, I done one. It's a complete tw*t to change it due to its location. In the passenger footwell remove the cloth that covers the fusebox. To the right of the fusebox you will see a plastic strip/panel that unclips. Its the same size as the filter, so there is just enough room to remove it. I'll grab a pic if you get stuck but its getting dark here now.

I found some pics online.

Ok I have just edited my post here as I found the correct pics to do this.

First step: Remove fuse box bracket, theres 2 screws.

Second step: Remove screws holding panel for pollen filter.

Third step: Remove old pollen filter.

Fourth step: Replace the pollen filter.

Job done, its a bit fiddley at times. You will be stretched across the passenger seat with legs out the door doing this. It should take about 30 minutes give or take. :)

Hes got a mk2 focus though. I know what you mean though, on the mk1 its under the fascia at the passenger side. I've replaced the pollen filters on both cars.

Hi again
I managed to replace this thing today...It took me 45 minutes to do it but it's done now :dance I must say it was a tricky job . Whoever put that thing in such a place should be rewarded for it. I bet he's into some yoga or something... Access to the filter is state of art :hammer
Once again thanks for your help H3lsing. Your pics were very helpful.
